Training and Learning

The Advocacy Project has over 15 years experience providing training on independent advocacy to a wide range of audiences. You, or your organisation could benefit from this expertise and learn more about the principles and practice of independent advocacy.

In all cases, The Advocacy Project's training is adapted to the needs of the audience.  The following is an example of the training that we can provide:

Introduction to Advocacy

This basic module can be delivered to an any audience, and does not assume any prior knowledge or experience. The principles and aims of advocacy are introduced using tutor talks, group discussion and video presentations.  A number of case studies and role plays are used to illustrate the practical application of advocacy. There is also explanation of the different types of advocacy and how they complement one-another.  A workbook containing all materials is issued to all participants.

Other Topics

Other subjects can include:
  • Involving Service Users in Decision Making
