Lanarkshire Adult Support and Protection Seminar

The North and South Lanarkshire Adult Support and Protection Committees held a joint seminar this week to look at what the outcomes have been for adults who have gone through the adult protection process. Michelle Howorth told the seminar about the work that The Advocacy Project has been involved in over the past year consulting with individuals, gathering their feedback and suggestions about the process. The seminar also heard about some research that has been done based on national statistics which interestingly relates with what people have been telling us at a local level in Lanarkshire. Michelle’s presentation focussed on the main things that people were telling us – that professionals should inform, involve and listen. The information that people kindly shared has been passed back to the relevant committees and The Advocacy Project hopes this will inform practice of the future.
